I've been reading Hinds' feet in High Places it's allegory taken from Habakkuk 3:19:

"God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like hinds' feet; he makes me tread on my high places."

Its a great book and these are some parts that really spoke to me!!

A verse that I have been resting a lot lately. Life as a adult sure has had it battles with more to come. The devil is to be fought and we need to be ready for these daily, hourly battles. The Lord is for us!!! That is something I have forgotten this season of life, though sometimes our circumstances might not not seem that way, He is for us! Keep up the good fight!

So this blog idea was a good at the beginning but now I think has flopped!! The only big updates I have is about each of you all and the crazy exciting things such as marriage, law school, graduation and such. It is the same old same old here is Dallas.

I am excited to be living my friend Carrie Harris come August, it will be a fresh beginning and I am so excited for what's in store. I miss you all but love that I have gotten to see you a lot this last year. Can you believe we (most of us) graduated a year ago. TIME has FLOWN by!!! Well sry I have never update this thing, I guess it's because we have been good at keeping up, so praise the Lord for that. Send my love to you all my sisters.

John Mayer says there is no such thing as the "real world." I disagree with him. Everyday I am learning something in regards to the "real world."
For example, a HUGE lesson I have learned relates to insurance. Due to a small mistake I made I don't have any dental insurance, and barely have medical insurance. I feel the plaque building up behind my bottom teeth and I cringe inside. So please learn from me. You must re-enroll for your insurance at your company EVERY year b/c if you don't, you get squat. Even if you want to keep the insurance you already have you must re-enroll. So please learn from Jenn's life Lesson #15 so you may always get your teeth cleaned every 6 months.

New Year, New things

Well, oh my I apologize for my lack of updates. What a crazy month. So much has been happening at the hospital. I am no longer underneath another nurse, I have all my own patients which is nice but also very stressful. I made my first medication error yesterday which made me very sad, but the staff was supportive and helped me through it. There is so much to learn in all the mistakes I have made at work (and unfortunately will make) but the important thing is how I handle the mistake. It is hard to swallow because it is devastating to cause any harm to my patients but the Lord has blessed and protected me. All my patients have been fine in regards to my errors. Overall, I can't say enough about how much I love my job and working at Children's. I have so much to be thankful for!!

Other things that have happened is Reese moved to Norway!!! He will be there for 8 months!

And so many of my beautiful, wonderful friends are getting married, yes you peps reading this. What a fun season to walk through with your friends!

Lastly, one of my friends from work has started coming to church with me which has been encouraging. She walked away from the church a while back and has really enjoyed the community and life of the church here in dallas!! :) The Lord is so good and so faithful. I am humbled by His constant love.

Good 'ole thanksgiving was, as always, a wonderful time of overeating. Although, I must say it is weird to not "go home" for the holidays and to be already here. Reese came in which made thanksgiving much more exciting. He is leaving for Norway in January and will be there for 8 months so our time with him was special.

Today I've been ready to head back to Norman and plan our Christmas party. BUT I am so glad to not be heading back with the ache and pressure of finals of my shoulder. :)

Thanksgiving also means some good football. I was happy to see our Sooners shut out OSU with our rough season. Also, we had was is called a "Turkey Bowl" with some people from church. We had a coach, plays, and a bloody nose. Way more intense than I was expecting. Here are some pictures.

The trees have started to change in Dallas and we got a big cold front today. I wish I was with you all right now by a fire drinking hot chocolate talking about life.

So I completed my first week of nights and I must say it was one of the hardest weeks. I haven't learned to sleep in the day yet so my body was suffering. All the night nurses take sleeping pills but I am going to try to not to go there quite yet. I know this week has to be better as my body adjusts more and more.

Holy COW! I can't believe thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK!!!! I am excited for the turkey trot and good ole family bonding. :) I hope one yr we all live on the same block with our family's and have a huge thanksgiving feast all together. (that is my dream)

Okay so today I purchased a friend. Yes that is right I now have stooped down to paying for friends. It is a RED beta. (kinda like mere's) But I need a name for it? Any suggestions. He is my new friend since I have been feeling kinda lonely without you all.

New phase: Ok so this blog was originately set up for my family while I was in college. Now my family sees me all the time. The friends (AKA you reading this right now) started talking about setting up blogs to know more about what was going on in each others lives so this is now a blog dedicated to my friends. May this help us keep connected in what is going on. I sincerely apologize to Paige and Amanda for the incorrect grammer that you will see :)

What is new in life:
1. As of tomorrow I will be working nights at Children's. I will be nocturnal and see hours of the day I have never seen before :)
2. My Car has been given a second life. I think this time it might be fixed for good and I gitty all over cause I missed my precious Jeep.

Well, You don't get much say in growing up. It just happens. It happens so fast too. May 16th 2009 I graduated from OU with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. It was a happiest and saddest day of my life. Mostly only happy because I never have to go to class and take all those hard tests anymore. Everything else was sad. I am still dealing with the new changes of not being with my friends but the Lord has blessed me with an amazing job at Children's Medical Center which starts August 31st. I am so thankful to my family to aiding me in the greatest 4 years of my life.

Justin and John Run!

For those who don't know the story of Justin and John, they represent true heroes. Justin is a friend who lost his life in India, on August 16th. John was in the accident as well, and is know back in America continuing rehab. There was a marathon run in Tulsa in honor of them which is what these pictures of from.
I learned more than words can express through their lives. I learned what it means to be a true disciple of Christ and to live your life for something bigger than yourself... This video gives tribute to Justin's life:

Well, it is hard to believe it, but this is it.... this is the last... it is so sad but i am excited for all the year has to bring. We started off the year by the rromies going on a camping trip to Turner Falls. We stayed in Teepee's becuase we wanted to all say we had slept in a teepee. It was a great time of looking at the starts, hiking, and playing on the waterfalls. We even started our own fire. Enjoy the pictures!! :)

Well, camping? When there is camping there are many stories! Here are the minor ones: got lost getting there (of course), ran into some CRAZY (when I say crazy i mean stupid) Arkansas people. finially arived to "Devil's Den" camping groups. We cooked (GOOD FOOD- for real!) hiked, went caving (with some bats!), froze to death in our sleep, and mostly sat in eachothers presence. It was great weekend of fellowship and enjoying nature! I am now an EXTREME CAMPER! :) haha

Christmas break

So I survived my first blizzard!! Here in Norman, the weather was awful and we got thrusday and Friday off from school which means two days of pure fun with friends. What a blessing before finals!! :) Oh, we had a blast and did everything you not suppose to do when the weather is bad... we did doughnuts in a parking lot, sleided behind a car, drove around, had a snowball fight, watched movies, and drank hot chocolate!

Parents Weekend

Family means putting your arms around each other and being there... that is the definition of my parents! They are always there for me!
Family is something it takes a while to appreciate, It took me leaving them to understand that (typical)! This past weekend was parents weekend and it was a blessed weekend of quality time! We went to a tailgate, watch OU BEAT tech, went to Bricktown, and gave lots of hugs! I would just like to say I have the greatest parents I don't care what anyone else says I know the truth... and no other parents are even in the running... Well only a few more weeks and this girl is another semester through, which will be a relief!

GLOBAL NIGHT COMMUTE

What a weekend!! The Global Night Commute for those who don't know was commute to OKC to raise awareness about the Invisible Children in Uganda. These children are abducted at night by the rebel groups and are brain washed to kill. It is an absolutely tragic event happening and IT MUST STOP! So in order to help the problem we spent the night outside the capital in the parking lot. We wrote letters to the president and senator to take action, because if someone bigger and more powerful doesn't do anything about it then the children are going to continue to live in fear. It was an event I will never forget! There were around 900 people there to help support. About 80 people walked to OK City and started in Norman (about 26 miles). No words give justice to the experience but I encourage everyone to make a difference and save the invisible children. For more information go to http://www.invisiblechildren.com/

Barefoot concert in NORMAN

My friends band, barefoot, came to Norman so a bunch of my friends and I went to watch! Everyone loved barefoot and thought they were really good! It was a fun to see them play in my college home!! Well, only a few more weeks and I am done with my first year in college... crazy! I can't wait for what this summer has in store though! Love to all!

For Spring break I was blessed with the opportunity to go to Galveston with 5 of my friends from OU! We went surfing one day which was harder than I thought, we also went downtown to eat and shop! It was a wonderful and relaxing time to spend with friends and enjoy not having to go to school!! :) It is hard to believe I am almost done with my first year in college!

It's Christmas Time!

It's is the time of drinking apple cider and pulling out the warm sweaters! Some call it the most wonderful time of the year! I personally enjoy it... I enjoy all the Christmas parties in college!! Right before everyone starts stressing out about exams there is great time to enjoy the blessing of the semester and the friendships made! I can't believe I have two weeks left till I am already 1/8 of the way through college! I have to say I really enjoyed the Pi Phi Christmas Party I got asked to by Chelsea (girl in the black shirt). The girls could ask friends so I enjoyed the steak meal and roasting marshmallows by the fire haha.! I also enjoyed the Christmas Party that was held for my friend Katie Peterson... it was just a sweet time of fellowship and enjoyment of the season. The mistletoe led for some exciting moments... haha... well now its time to gear up for exams!! love to all!!

Thanksgiving

Man there is so much to be thankful for!! My thanksgiving break started with a beautiful wedding! What a blessing to get to experience such a special moment with Melinda and Skip. It was a wedding full of love, appreciation and gratitude. The break continued with much needed relaxation and special time with the family! My mommy and I got to do some damage shopping as usual... (moms are so good to their daughters) :)
I FINALLY got to see some of my friends after what seemed a lifetime! Spending time with them was priceless and dear to my heart! I missed my friends so much and it was encouraging to see how much they have all grown!
Thanksgiving day... "Turkey trot" as usual followed by a feast and over eating. My stomach was in pain after that scrumptious meal. Friday I got to go see Highland Park beat Ennis in the football playoffs. (Hopefully in two weeks I will be writing about the game I see when we win sate) :) We finished off the night with a humbling experience of going to the Austin Street Shelter with my mom and dad. There are no words to express the gratitude I felt as I pour drinks to the homeless people with overused Styrofoam cups. It broke my heart but it opened my eyes and gives me more to pray for. Katie and I hope to go back of Christmas and invest in their lives more.
During the weekend I watch OU BEAT OSU!! (YEAH!!) while the fam put up Christmas lights! Overall it was an eventful week and I could have enjoyed the time I spent with my family more! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful loving family! My parents are complete servants who I hope some day to be like!! Man.... this thanksgiving there seemed to be an overwhelming amount of thanks in my heart!

Dads Weekend

So this weekend was one to remember! It was dads weekend at OU so there were many memories made. First off we played aTm in football and WON! BOOMER SOONER!! Second, my dad and I went to the mavs game in OK city and the mavs WON! Third, my friend Elyse came up to stay with us!! My dad and I got some quality bonding time and it was wonderful to get to spend a whole weekend with him!

I wanted to put some picture up of my friends! 4 of us went to PF changs in the City and it was an awesome girls night out. two of the girls live on my hall. Also, this weekend was so beautiful we went to the park and enjoyed the beauty of the day as we read and talked. Also, we decided to be spontaneous and climb this statue on campus and take funny pictures on it! If you ever come to Norman you will see this huge statue on Lindsey (many cars honked at us) :) It was a fun and busy weekend! I can't wait till next weekend... :)

Halloween was great in Norman! My friend had a party at her house. As you can tell I dressed up as Superwoman and although it was halloween the theme seemed to be Christmas... it was ironic but also really cute!! Happy Halloween (or Merry Christmas??)

So this weekend I went to College station!!... It was the greatest weekend I have had in college! It was amazing and encouraging to get to see all of my friends! I have the most wonderful friends that I miss so much!! :) I went down Friday night to see our friends band, Barefoot, open for Ashlee Simpson. Saturday I went to the football game and it was unlike an other football game! The aggie spirit is indescribable! Saturday night we went to a camo party and then sunday we went to church and hung out till I had to go back to the airport! Overall it was the perfect weekend!! BUT I still couldn't wait to come back to Norman! I just love OU and there is no other place for me... :)

420 Date party

This weekend was fun and different! Our friends decided to throw their own "date party." They took us to Bricktown for and amazing meal and then made a bonfire for us where we made smores. It was a fun night and proved guys can be creative! They all won huge bonus points for the splendid night they planned.

midterms

School has been wonderful!! It is midterm time so it has been a little more on the stressful side but I enjoy studying so... it isn't that bad! I declared my major, which is nursing. I really excited about it and look forward to pursing this career! I can't say enough wonderful things about OU, it is truly gorgeous here and joy overflows everyday I am on campus! It is neat to see the Lord’s plans unfold! My friend gave me this quote and it has really been on my heart:

"Obedience to Jesus' command, Follow me, is the key issue in every Christian’s life. As Jesus followed the Father's will, so His disciples should follow their Lord whether the path leads to a cross or some other difficult experience."

OU TX weekend

We'll this weekend was OU/TX and it was so fun! It was my first time home so it was even more special! I got super spoiled by my parents and who wouldn't love that? We went down to the west end on Friday night to basically yell at the UT fans....it was kinda silly but I guess it is just part of the experience! The weekend went fast but it was all memorable! The only thing that was not perfect was the outcome of the game. We felt sorry for UT since we had beaten them so many times before that we let them have this one. but NEXT year... our streak continues!!

sometimes it easier to chose God's will for our lives because we know it's Gods will but then one we are going through it and see why it's His will.... that is the Hard part! Living for Him can sometimes be the harder path but really it's so worth it. Eternity vs moments. His will is building our character for eternity! :)
